Thanks, Mr. President...

Due to the CBS break-in taking up the bulk of today's show, and my inability to use CBS.com's webplayer without inventing new words, there'll be no recap today either.  Impromptu four-day weekend at the Towers.

I swear, if it's not one thing it's another around here...

Tune in Monday, when hopefully things will return to some degree of normal.

Not today...

Just when I thought I could finally get through one week without missing a show, my DVR konks out on me.  Lovely.

Try again tomorrow, folks...

And to welcome me back to the world of full-service recapping, we're putting one of our remaining two -- or three, now that Card Game's back in town -- unbeatens out for a spin. It's Now....or Then:
Trip to Chicago, IL (6n, Hotel Felix, 1 dinner, 1 spa treatment each, 4hr land & river tour; $6,363; RR)

  • Sensodyne toothpaste (4oz)
  • Mountain High whole milk yogurt (32oz, apparently spelled with an "H" where they come from)
  • Ronzoni Garden Delight tricolor rotini pasta
  • Zest body bars (3)
  • Blue Star ointment
  • Stagg chili w/beans

No obvious anachronisms, but that Zest shows up often enough anymore for me to know that it's $3.99, and it's showing a price here of $2.49. That leads me to believe that's one of our two THENs on the table. Aside from that, Betty Jean's on her own (or at the mercy of the Peanut Gallery) with this one.

Let's find out...

Drew actually does a full prove-out this time, revealing the toothpaste to be the second THEN.

Well, this one made it to the last month of the season at least... now only Bonus Game remains, really. Cardy too, of course, but only on the technicality that it just came back into the lineup.

And yeah, I'm annoyed with myself for the Zest thing too. >_>

Rhetorical Question Dep't.: Most people can look at the string of prices and mentally eliminate at least two that are obviously wrong. Why not start with those prices? You'll have higher odds of getting to at least your third pick that way, at least provided someone on the staff didn't try to pull something cute...

Well, we had an undefeated game suffer its first loss earlier today... maybe we could see a winless game record its first tick in the green column? You never quite know with Balance Game:
Pair of Can-Am DS250 ATVs w/helmets & pair of GoPro Hero3+ video recorders(MA)

Hmm... my gut feeling is $9,078. Which means I'm going to ignore it, since my gut has been precisely what's been wrong with me for the lion's share of the past 168 hours! $7,078, is what I say.

This, however, is what Lauren says:

Well, maybe I should've trusted my gut after all -- hey, I am feeling loads better, right?

Now that was a win a long time coming! IMO, this makes up for losing Now...or Then earlier. Hey, it only took about eight months, right? But between this and That's Too Much! snapping its fourteen-game losing streak yesterday, one can almost sense that the tides of futility may be changing as we approach the end of Season 42...

And whether you counted Card Game as a legitimate unbeaten or only a technical one is irrelevant now, since that's an all-too-real loss. Now only Bonus Game remains with an 0-fer in the loss column. But with four weeks to go and the relative paucity of Bonus Game appearances in a season, it may yet make it through in one piece... we shall see what happens.

What's going to happen to Scott if he doesn't get on stage this time may not be too pretty...
