Update

As things currently stand, the plan is this:

As I understand it, there will be a 4th of July special next Monday, and if so I will recap that.  In that case, I will consider that to be the final episode of Season 39 and my statistics for the season will be set in stone, even though there are still two make-good airings out there.

Stay tuned...

Season 39: That's (Almost) a Wrap!

As expected, today begins the summer rerun cycle for The Price is Right.  However, Season 39 is not yet officially over, as there is is apparently a 4th of July special planned and there are still two make-good airings to come.  I'll be back for the July episode almost certainly, but I haven't decided yet if I'll handle the two make-goods with full recaps given there's no set timetable for when they'll air.

Nevertheless, Season 39 is legitimately only a few episodes away from wrapping up, though it'll be a little while before I can post final statistics.  Keep checking back here for updates, but other than that, TPiRecap Towers is officially closed for the summer.  See you in September, guys!

TPiRecap: 20 June 2011 (Wedding Shower Spectacular Speedrun)

Episode #: 5621K
Airdate: 20 June 2011
VTR: 1 June 2011
First Four: Sean & Vanessa, Okwuchurwo & Donisha, Kevin & Eileen, Jackson & Mareni (R-L)
Today's Models: Amber Lancaster, Gwendolyn Osbourne, Rachel Reynolds ()

Many apologies, but I was far too late today. I have to speedrun this.

And that's a shame, since this is another theme episode -- the Wedding Shower Edition, where all the contestants are engaged couples playing together. It is also, perhaps, according to unconfirmed reports, the last first-run show of Season 39 proper, barring the potential of a 4th of July special (and, of course, the two make-goods from earlier this year). The gimmick is that the newly-minted Wedding Channel is working with the show to give away over a quarter-million dollars in prizes today (which all but gaurantees a Big Four appearence). No, I never heard of the Wedding Channel myself, so this is probably the biggest publicity it can hope to have! As for "quarter-million dollars in prizes," well, we'll see on the Leader Board how true that is!

Let's do this...

All stage players get a bonus prizes from the Wedding Channel in addition to their IUFB: A trip to St. Lucia in the West Indies. These trips, valued at $8,966, will not be factored into my Leader Board totals, though they were used by the show to figure the Showcase winners' final total.

Big Four promise fulfilled, but alas, it's filled with Pay the Rent Wedding:
  • M&M's personalized chocolate candy
  • Illume scented candle
  • p.s. I love you bubble bath
  • McCormick Spanish Saffron seasoning
  • Driscoll's strawberries
  • Reddi-Wip whipped cream

...Get your mind out of the gutter, folks, this is CBS Daytime and I'm trying to speedrun!
